Curro Holdings Limited (JSE:COH)
Curro Holdings Limited (JSE:COH) is the leading for-profit independent school provider in southern Africa. It develops, acquires and manages independent schools for learners from three months to Grade 12.
The group was established in 1998 and is now located across more than 75 campuses with more than 62 000 learners. The group offers a variety of ancillary services that vary between schools and include boarding, aftercare, cafeterias, school transport and activity centres.
Curro offers eight school models:
Curro Castles (nursery schools)
Curro Castles are nursery schools that offer preschool children a Curro-specific, carefully designed and unique curriculum with the early learning and development area in mind.
Curro schools accommodate learners from three months (Group 1) to Grade 12. They are co-ed and some schools are parallel medium (Afrikaans and English) from Group 4 to Grade 9, and dual medium from Grade 10 to Grade 12. At the end of Grade 12 the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examination is written.
Curro Academy schools
Curro Academy schools accommodate learners from age five years (Grade RR) to Grade 12. Academy schools are co-ed and single medium (English), and write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination at the end of Grade 12. This cost-sensitive model ensures the lowest possible school fees without compromising academic standards and the Curro curriculum.
Curro Select schools
Curro Select schools are schools that have been acquired by Curro Holdings and offer superior facilities and a rich heritage. Although owned by Curro Holdings, these schools retain their original well-established identities and ethos.
Curro assisted-learning schools
Curro's assisted-learning schools provide high-quality academic intervention for learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12, at the end of which the NSC examination is written.
Curro DigiEd schools
Curro's DigiEd schools provide a progressive, technologically advanced and innovative education for learners from Grades 8 and 9 in 2019.
Curro private colleges
Curro private colleges offer extended opportunities to learners from Grade 10 who write the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) examination at the end of Grade 12.
Meridian schools accommodate learners from age five years (Grade RR) to Grade 12. Meridian schools are co-ed and single medium (English), and write the NSC examination at the end of Grade 12.
